Makenzi Hamilton

Southern Arkansas University

Makenzi Hamilton serves as the Executive Director of Alumni Relations at Southern Arkansas University, where she continues to strengthen lifelong relationships between the university and its alumni while advancing engagement, philanthropy, and institutional pride. During her decade of service to SAU, she previously served as Director of Recruitment, leading enrollment initiatives and helping prospective students discover the opportunities available through higher education. Earlier in her career, she also served as an Academic Advisor, Admissions Counselor, and Instructor for Student Success courses, including Freshman Seminar and Career/Life Planning.

Makenzi earned a Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Affairs from Southern Arkansas University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Southern Arkansas University in 2014.

Throughout her career, Makenzi has served in numerous leadership roles that have advanced the mission of Southern Arkansas University. Her involvement has included President of Staff Senate, service on the Miss SAU Board of Directors, participation in the 2018–2019 Mulerider L.E.A.D. leadership class, presentations at state conferences, and membership on various university committees. She has been recognized with the Mary Anna King Staff Excellence Award and Student Affairs Leadership, Dedication, and Service Awards for her commitment to the university and its students.

Makenzi resides in Magnolia, Arkansas, with her fiancé, Bo, their two sons, Jace and Ty, and their two standard Goldendoodles, Penelope and Georgia. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships, serving her community, and creating opportunities that connect students, alumni, and friends to the continued success of Southern Arkansas University.
