Stephen Houserman
City of Clarksville
Stephen Houserman is in his fifth year as the Economic Development Director for the City of Clarksville, Arkansas. Born and raised in Upstate New York, Stephen joined the Marine Corps in 2008, completing multiple overseas deployments. In 2012, he attended the University of the Ozarks, earning a degree in political science and economics while serving in the Marine Corps Reserves. In 2014, he participated in The Fund for American Studies Institute on Economics and International Affairs at George Mason University. Upon returning to Arkansas, Stephen became active in state politics and served as Communications Director for the Republican Party of Arkansas. After several successful election cycles, he returned to the River Valley to support his favorite community as an economic developer. In recent years, Stephen has focused on fostering a thriving community in Clarksville by supporting local businesses and families. In 2024, Governor Sanders appointed Stephen to the Arkansas Veterans Commission.
Stephen and his wife, Elly, enjoy raising their three children, Emmit (9), Silas (4), and Clara (1), on their homestead in Johnson County.
