Steven Person is a resident of Little Rock. Here, he helps raise his two children, Jayden and Anaya. Both of whom attend Parkview Arts & Science Magnet. Steven has been a faithful member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in North Little Rock for over 25 years and also served as a trustee.
A product of the Little Rock school district, Steven attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR. While at UCA, Steven decided to serve his state and country and joined the Arkansas National Guard. After graduation, he began working in the information technology field. Assuming he would further his IT education through continuous certifications, plans changed after America was attacked on September 11, 2001. It was after this time that he was deployed to Taji, Iraq for 13 months. After his return from combat duty, Steven went on to excel in his IT career while being promoted to leadership positions at the request of his employers.
Steven is currently the Director of Technology for the Clinton School of Public Service. Locally, Steven is serving as a Commissioner for the Little Rock Planning Commission, a Parliamentarian for the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus, and the Political Chair for the Little Rock Branch of the NAACP. Steven is also a Leadership Greater Little Rock graduate and was named to Soiree Magazine’s Men on a Mission. He has served on the Board of Directors of Bridges to Success in Little Rock, assisted the Democratic Party of Arkansas with IT needs, advised political campaigns, volunteered for the Arkansas Food Bank through his church and the Little Rock Chamber, and is heavily involved with the West Central Neighborhood Association of John Barrow, where he serves as financial secretary. Steven was recently elected to represent District 5 on Pulaski County’s Quorum Court and invited to join the Board of Directors for AR Kids Read.
