Standard Lithium and Equinor Set to Receive Up to $225 Million in Federal Support for Arkansas Lithium Project

The U.S. Department of Energy has selected Standard Lithium and global energy leader Equinor to receive up to $225 million in funding as part of a national initiative to strengthen the domestic supply chain for battery materials. This funding will support the development of Standard Lithium’s Southwest Arkansas Project, a large-scale lithium extraction venture focused on producing battery-grade lithium from Arkansas’ vast brine resources.

The federal support is part of a broader $2.8 billion effort to expand U.S. battery material production and reduce reliance on foreign sources.
