Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders proclaims Manufacturing Day in Arkansas
In conjunction with National Manufacturing Day, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has officially proclaimed October 4, 2024, as Manufacturing Day in Arkansas. This day serves as an opportunity to recognize the vital role that manufacturing plays in our state’s economy.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, manufacturing accounts for 11.75% of non-agrarian employment in Arkansas, representing nearly 163,000 jobs across 2,970 establishments. In 2023, the manufacturing industry was a leading contributor to Arkansas’s GDP growth, highlighting its importance in our economic landscape. Moreover, the demand for skilled workers in this sector has surged, making our ongoing efforts to promote career and technical training and workforce development more essential than ever.
As we celebrate Arkansas-made products, the State Chamber/AIA acknowledges that manufacturing not only provides high-quality careers but also delivers products that benefit our state, nation, and world. Join us in honoring the contributions of our manufacturers and their commitment to innovation and excellence as we celebrate Arkansas Manufacturing Day on October 4, 2024.
