University of Arkansas at Little Rock
Christian O’Neal is the Vice Chancellor for Advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. With a strong passion for education and a deep understanding of the power of philanthropy, he has been instrumental in advancing the university’s mission and fostering a culture of giving and support. Additionally, he oversees communications and marketing, ensuring the university’s story is compellingly told.
Christian’s professional journey began with a desire to make a real difference at his alma mater. At UA Little Rock, he has taken on the significant task of leading the Centennial Campaign, an ambitious fundraising drive aiming to raise $250 million. This campaign focuses on securing funds for scholarships, student support programs, faculty excellence, and enhancing the living and learning environment on campus.
With his leadership and talent for inspiring others, Christian has successfully rallied donors, alumni, and the community around the university’s mission. Thanks to his vision and dedication, the campaign has already raised an impressive $200 million, achieving 80% of the goal and on track to reach its final target by 2027, marking the university’s 100th anniversary. Under his guidance, the Centennial Campaign has helped UA Little Rock invest in cutting-edge educational resources, attract and retain top-notch faculty, and provide students with transformative opportunities that prepare them for success.
Christian’s life took on new meaning when he and his wife, Julie, became parents to their daughter, McKinley, and their two sons, Beckett and Mason, both of whom have special needs. The challenges and joys of raising children with special needs have given Christian a profound sense of empathy and a deeper awareness of the struggles faced by individuals and families in similar situations. Motivated by his experiences as a parent, Christian is a passionate advocate for inclusivity and support for those with special needs.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at the pool with his family, swimming laps—a hobby he has loved since his days on his hometown swim team—and playing golf with friends.
