Eddie Lee Herndon
Vice Chairman (OG+E)
Eddie Lee Herndon is currently the Community Affairs Manager for OG&E and registered state agent for Arkansas representing the company in Arkansas and LeFlore County in Oklahoma.
Among his many responsibilities are crisis management and problem resolution, maintaining key relationships with federal, state, and local officials, economic and community development, and franchise elections. Prior to OG&E, he served as President and CEO of United Way of Fort Smith Area from February 2015 to August of 2021 and United Way of West TN from November 2011 to February of 2015.
EL serves on numerous boards including the following: Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, United States Marshalls Museum, Western Arkansas Planning and Development District, LeFlore County Economic Development Commission, Fort Smith Regional Alliance, Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club, University of Arkansas Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Arkansas Imagination Library, and the Oklahoma Imagination Library.
Included in his experience, he has spoken to 100’s of groups through the years and conducted trainings in the areas of board development, fundraising, leadership, volunteerism, entrepreneurism, and crisis management. Most notably, he was a featured speaker at Dolly Parton’s Homecoming in Pigeon Forge, TN, and a featured speaker for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America at Red Rocks, CO.
Among recent honors, he is one of three founding members of the Arkansas Imagination Library and was honored as Founding Emeritus Board Member. He also received the prestigious recognition of “Honorary Commander of the 57th Fighter Squadron” by Lt. Col Jonathan D. Hassell, Commander 57th Fighter Squadron.
EL is most proud of his family. He and his wife Amber have four children and five grandchildren.
