Jason Hudnell

With over two decades of experience in education and leadership, Jason currently serves as the Director of Admissions and Public Affairs at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA), a nationally ranked residential high school. In this role, he leads strategic recruitment initiatives, oversees public engagement efforts, and champions access to advanced educational opportunities for Arkansas students.

Prior to joining ASMSA, Jason held several key roles at National Park College (NPC), including Dean of Enrollment and Athletics Director. During his tenure, NPC reversed a multi-year enrollment decline and became the third-largest community college in Arkansas. Through innovative outreach and streamlined admissions processes, he fostered institutional growth and student success. As Athletics Director, Jason founded the college’s NJCAA athletics program, growing from inception to over 175 student-athletes and multiple varsity and club sports. He also served as head men’s basketball coach from 2017 to 2020, compiling a 45–24 record.  Jason’s teams were among the top 10 offensive teams in the nation among NJCAA division 2 schools.

Earlier in his career, Jason was instrumental in advancing career and technical education through leadership positions at the National Park Technology Center. He collaborated with local industry partners, coordinated student internships, led professional development initiatives, and improved workforce readiness outcomes.

Jason holds a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Arkansas Tech University, a Graduate Certificate in Building-Level Administration from Arkansas State University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Ouachita Baptist University. A licensed educator and certified Career Development Facilitator, he has also held multiple Arkansas Department of Education certifications.

Jason has served on both regional and national NJCAA sport committees for soccer and softball. He is a past recipient of numerous state and regional awards, including the Arkansas ACTE Outstanding Educator of the Year and AAEA Career and Technical Administrator of the Year. A frequent presenter at conferences and a graduate of Leadership Hot Springs, Jason is known for visionary leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and a deep commitment to student opportunity and achievement.
