Mark McHale
Vice Chairman (Ritter Communications)
Mark McHale joined Ritter Communications in January 2022 as Vice President, Public Affairs and Community Relations.
Mark has an extensive background in strategic communications, public policy, media relations, and technology services that align with Ritter Communications’ market expansion efforts across the Mid-South region. His experience includes being a Presidential Appointee during the last Republican Administration, serving as the Associate Administrator in the Office of Strategic Communications with U.S. General Services Administration, where he led Administration policy-making efforts in the telecom, artificial intelligence, and technology modernization initiatives across federal and state governments. His career in the technology field supports Ritter Communications’ strategic vision and mission to provide Arkansans with high-speed internet service to their homes and businesses – while closing the digital divide and connectivity gaps in rural markets across our home state and Mid-South regional communities.
As VP of Public Affairs and Community Relations, Mark focuses on establishing and deepening relationships with business leaders, public officials, and elected leaders in markets throughout the Mid-South. Mark also leads the company’s public policy initiatives on the rapidly evolving federal and state broadband regulations, identifies and investigates multiple federal/state network construction opportunities, and explores potential public-private partnerships – coordinating Ritter’s market expansion efforts in new, strategic service areas.
In addition, Mark enjoys volunteering his time, and serving on a number of Boards in the broadband industry, and organizations in Ritter’s headquarters market of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He’s a Board member of The Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce, The Arkansas Telecommunications Association (ATA), NEA Baptist Hospital Health System, The Impackt Club (Arkansas State University), The Northeast Arkansas Workforce Development Board (NEAWDF), and Tennessee Broadband Association (TNBA).
Mark is a graduate of Miami University (Oxford, OH) and a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He and his wife Wendy have two sons, John and Robert – and a rescue dog named Lucky. Mark is an avid golfer, reader, and Arkansas State University Red Wolves sports fan.
